a little anthropology is necessary here. For hundreds of thousands of years, probably millions of years, humans have evolved as a tribal species. The tribal leader(s) made the decisions and the rest followed along. If not, a new leader appeared or the tribe was assimilated or decimated by another. This was a stable species organization until the invention of agriculture. Reason and logic are quite new inventions compared to pressure of tribal cohesion. The problems of today are not a failure of the tribal members but a failure of the leaders. I suspect in prehistory, psychopaths made good warriors, but were not necessarily chosen as leaders. Today a significant percentage of CEOs (27% IIRC), politicians, media personalities, even clergy are psychopaths or related personality disorders. Clergy is the 8th most popular profession for psychopaths. Elon Musk is a perfect example. He and his buddy, Peter Thiel, are supporting Trump so that their minion JD Vance will become de facto president when Trump goes off the rails. The short run approach in the US is for the tribes within the Democratic party to strengthen their support of Harris. The protest of the Michigan Palestinians against Biden is stupid. A man who is in bed with Netanyahu is far worse than a woman who doesn't like him. The problem isn't the followers it's the leaders.
