A pessimistic view on China from Tufts professor:
China’s rise has ended and is reversing. We need to prepare for the state to misbehave and we need to soften the blow of its decay. We don’t need another Russia.
China now has many characteristics that are consistent with fascism:
1. Leader worship;
2. Hyper-nationalism;
3. Repression of ethnic minorities;
4. 1984-style universal surveillance;
5. The largest military expansion since Nazi Germany
