Students are being failed by some academics and eductors who seem to think a university degree is just supposed to prepare you for the workplace. If people want to go straight from school to becoming the meat avatar for an LLM then that's up to them but you don't get a university degree in whatever subject for that. You could take a first year pure mathematics paper and feed it into ChatGPT and get correct answers within seconds. But you didn't *learn* maths - you don't get a degree in maths for copy-pasting answers. And if all you can do is feed questions into an LLM why would anyone employ you when they could do it themselves for much cheaper? We still need domain knowledge. I'm not going to let some numpty loose on my patients because they have access to asking an LLM medical questions any more than I was when they could search Wikipedia.
