Uncomfortable truth that one of the few things society holds up as a great win for forward progress (women’s equal or greater involvement in workplace / institutions) could also have other negative effects that could be existential for governance, civilization... It’s just easier to celebrate the equality and ignore any discussion of potential issues arising from it This chart comes to mind, a series of kind lies leading to short term comfort and long term dysfunction Personally, I’m less worried about the individual cases of unfairness when someone missed out on an opportunity because of some DEI quotas.
