• Live-streaming: Adjust your facial expressions or entire appearance
• Facial animator: Control static facial images and manipulate them through your own face

We've seen another example pop up in April 2024 with Microsoft's hyper-realistic talking head AI: VASA-1.

It can generate lifelike talking faces of virtual characters all from a single static image and audio clip.

My takeaways:

• Proof of authenticity will be an absolute must to solve what is coming
• I believe real-world interaction is more important than ever
• Zoom meetings are about to get a whole lot more interesting

Imagine if you were able to build an AI that could be a financial advisor with the same overlay of your face and your voice and it would just take the meetings for you. It would take about 6 to 9 months to train the AI appropriately from your meetings but based on current technology we could probably build this in a year or two.

The technology is only going to get better, and far faster than any regulation can keep up with. And as someone who actively uses AI tools, I'm struggling to see the positives in that.

People are more and more informed about deepfakes, AI content, and misinformation. 

Worst case scenario, it develops to the point where fake content is indiscernible from the real thing, and the majority of people conclude that nothing they see is real, the Internet loses its value, humans leave it, and we spend millions on servers dedicated to computers talking to themselves.
